About Us

Experience You Can Count On

Amy L. Verlanic is the sole proprietor of ALV Consulting. She founded her consulting business after 15 years of a successful career in higher education and community service. ALV Consulting offers project management, strategic planning, and grant writing services to nonprofit associations and educational institutions. Her educational grant-writing skills have garnered over $98 Million in public and private funding.

Amy recently retired from a full-time career as the Executive Director of the Institute for Educational Opportunities at Montana Tech where she works to provide teachers and students with college-based programs that enrich statewide science, engineering, and technology education for 30 years.

Amy has held elected office at the local, state, regional and national level. She was the Board Chair for the Council for Opportunity in Education in 2013, where she was charged to represent the needs of 2,900 federally funded TRIO programs serving 840,000 Americans.

Ms. Verlanic is a sought-after lecturer on educational access issues, grant writing, funding, management, leadership and data management; her work has been shared at the European Access Network and across the US. She currently serves as a TRIO expert to US Department of Education TRIO trainings for The University of Kansas, COE, and University of Las Vegas.

Non-profit agencies, such as the Montana Marine Corps League and the Montana Logging Association have contracted her services as a board trainer, strategic planner, and membership event manager.

Ms. Verlanic served seven years on the Anaconda School Board, was the Governor’s Appointee on the Montana Board of Personnel Appeals and served as a legislative appointee to the Office of Public Instruction’s K-12 Data Task Force.

Amy’s list of accolades include; Michael Schwerner National Activist Award Nominee, Anaconda Chamber of Commerce Spark Plug Award, Montana Tech’s Distinguished Alumni Award, the

U.S. Army’s Most Influential Educators Award, the Montana Tech Grantor of the Decade Award, and the Butte Silver Bow Local Development Educator of the Year.

The things she is most proud of are her family including two beautiful granddaughters, four daughters, and a spoiled golden retriever; being acknowledged by both ASPIRE as the Art Quinn Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and COE as the Walter O Mason Lifetime Achievement Awardee; and most recently being entrusted as the Sonoma State University TRIO Training Director.
